Council of Masajid of the United States

Established in 1978 by representatives of the Muslim World League to oversee mosques in the United States. Sponsored by Saudi Arabia. Consolidated with the Council of Masajid of Canada as Continental Council of Masajid of North America. Goals are to aid local mosques in educational and outreach programs, acquire permanent mosque buildings, perpetuate Islamic culture, and facilitate communications with non-Muslims.
