Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) issued the Cairo Declaration in 1990 , asserting that “fundamental rights and universal freedoms in Islam are an integral part” of Islam. Rule 24 holds that all rights and freedoms stipulated in the declaration are subject to shariah.
