Sudanese organization founded by the Muslim Brothers in 1964 with Hassan al-Turabi as secretary general. Advocated an Islamic constitution to win a broader range of support. Cooperated with Sadiq al-Mahdi 's wing of the Ummah Party from 1965 to 1968 in the anti-Communist drive and promotion of an Islamic constitution. Active on university campuses. Ceased to exist as a formal organization after the military coup of 1969 .
