    Muhammad 's nursemaid from infancy until he was four years old. According to hadith, she was unable to nurse her own son prior to taking Muhammad in due to drought and starvation in the desert. Once she started nursing Muhammad, she was able to produce enough milk for both Muhammad and her son.
