    An organization of Muslim Nigerian college students founded in the 1960s that grew rapidly during the 1970s oil boom and the concomitant expansion of opportunities for higher education. Most members wanted to reform their Sufi orientation and were influenced by Abubakar Gumi , the grand kadi of northern Nigeria during the first republic ( 1960 – 66 ).
