    First wife of Muhammad , and his only wife until her death. Mother of Fatimah and other sons and daughters of Muhammad. First person to believe in Muhammad's prophethood. Wealthy widow who hired Muhammad to oversee her commercial transactions. Married Muhammad when she was around forty and he was twenty-five. Revered as a good and faithful wife, mother, and Muslim.
