    Algerian Sufi and poet. Joined the Darqawi tariqah during a period of intense French colonization. By 1916 , established an independent Sufi order. Denounced westernization, secularism, modernization, and Algerians who accepted French citizenship. Authored fifteen works on Sufism and poetry.
